Avoiding Joint Strain

Sit, soak and soothe. A warm bath before bed can relieve muscle tension, ease aching joints and help you get a good night's sleep.

Pack some heat. To relieve pain and stiffness, try heat therapies, such as heated pools, whirlpools, warm showers, warm compresses or microwaveable heat packs.

Chill out. Applying cold to sore spots can also help reduce pain and swelling. Use a cold pack, a bag of ice wrapped in a towel or a bag of frozen vegetables for a quick and easy cold treatment. You can also try an "ice massage" and rub ice directly on a painful joint.

What is carpal tunnel syndrome?

Carpal tunnel syndrome usually manifests as tingling, numbness, weakness, or pain in the fingers or hand. Some people may have pain in their arm between their hand and their elbow. Symptoms most often occur in the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and half of the ring finger.

This can be caused by excessive pressure on the median nerve, which runs from your forearm to your hand, along with several tendons through a small passageway in the palm side of your wrist called the carpal tunnel.

Prescription Safety

There are multiple ways to manage pain and discomfort, and patients and their doctors should work together to determine the most effective and safest course of action. Depending on the severity of the condition, treatment can range from exercise and activities that boost physical and mental health, to cold and hot compresses, over-the-counter pain medications and more powerful prescription opioids. When used as recommended, prescription painkillers can alleviate severe pain, especially during the hours and days immediately following an injury or major surgery.

Common Sports Injuries

There are millions of people participating in amateur and professional
sports every single year and an injury, no matter how minor or major,
could cause a huge disappointment to the injured party and coaches.
There may be pressure to continue playing that could lead to an
additional injury with long-term or even life-term effects. These
injuries could cause major problems that require surgery and may lead to

Spine Problems

As you age, your body is prone to develop some form of chronic pain in some part of your body. The most common location for you to develop a disorder of chronic pain is in your spine. The disorders themselves are not the problem, the problem is when these disorders put pressure onto nearby nerves or your spinal cord, which can cause pain, numbness, or even paralysis. Are you experiencing pain in your back? If so, we recommend that you get in touch with your physician and have them further inspect your pain.
